2 Top Argentine Wineries You Should Visit

When someone mentions Argentina, words like ‘red meat’, ‘gauchos’ and ‘tango’ all popup, but one phrase is repeated more than all others: red wine. That’s why Roux Luxury Travels brings in wine lovers from every continent-except maybe Antarctica-to Argentina. It’s a beautiful country, but we primarily book vacations there because it’s a rich wine country.

As a full-service travel agency in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, our mission is to get you to Argentina for a vacation experience like you’ve never had before. One way we intend to do that is by giving you a list of the top wineries in the country.

Visit all of them if you can but even a single visit to just one won’t be a wasted experience. You’ll cherish it as much as your tongue will.

  • Bodega Mevi Boutique

Mendoza city is another place wine lovers have dubbed their ‘Mecca’. We recommend you hire a drier that knows his way about the city because the point is for you to get someone who can take you to boutique wineries that shun large-scale production and opt for smaller production. This way, you don’t have to contend with buzzing tourists, but you’ll still find beautiful wines and a wealth of local stories.

The three major sub-regions of Mendoza are Lujan de Cuyo, Maipu and Uco Valley. Each of them boasts excellent wineries, some of which are ancient. But if we had to choose one region for you to kick off your wine tour trip, go to Maipu. That’s where gems like Bodega Mevi Boutique are found.

This winery lies at the heart of acres of perfect vines, giving you scenic views of the Andes Mountains as well as making you smile with their rare selection of wines. Go for the San Gimignano Malbec Roble; it’s their most-sought bottle.

  • Vina Cobos

Lujan de Cuyo is the next place to visit. We wanted to save the best for last. The region has grown the greatest and largest wineries both Argentinians and wine lovers around the world flock to.

The winery is owned by a California winemaker, Paul Hobbs, who is credited as being one of the individuals who reshaped the landscape of the Argentinian wine industry back during the 1990s.

The Vina Cobos offers both wine tasting and tours, but they are reservation only. Still, you won’t be short of excellent options to choose from; though first-time visitors have sometimes expressed confusion when it came to which bottle to touch. The number and types of wine can be justifiably overwhelming. We’ll help you out a bit here.

Try the Bramare line first; it’s been a favorite of returning tourists and vacationers for many years. Cobos Nico and Felino are great wines too, but they don’t hold a candle to Bramare. Then again, the choice is all yours, so try what you can go with what pleases your taste buds the most

Regardless whether you follow Roux Luxury Travel’s recommendation or go out and explore the many wineries on your own, you’ll still have fun in Argentina. Call us and let’s book a vacation for you there. The country has something for everyone, and if you’re the most avid of wine lovers, then you might as well call Argentina ‘your home away from home’.
