At Roux Luxury Travel, we are always looking for trips that combine our love of food, adult beverages and travel. We are currently working on a 2017 tour of Scotland that  will include Scotch whisky tastings at famous distilleries including Oban, Laproaig and The Balvenie. You will also be treated to an exploration of other historic sites, castles, beautiful scenery, and attractions along the way in and near Edinburgh, Oban, Speyside, and Islay.

Be a part of those who love single malt scotch and who are anxious to explore the variety of malts in different parts of Scotland. At the same time, you will have the luxury of staying at three and four star hotels each night and have three dinners included in your tour.

Oban Distillery

This historic distillery in the charming coast town of Oban is one of the smallest and oldest in Scotland. Originally established in 1794, it was refurbished in the 1890s and has had very little change to its buildings since then. Visitors witness the traditional craftsmanship of whisky production and then can enjoy complimentary drams of their 14 year old West Highland Malt.

Laproaig Distillery

Timeless and unique, this award-winning distillery maintains the ancient whisky making traditions that have been used for approximately 200 years and then shares a dram or two with its guests. Their whiskies have an earthy and pungent blue peat smoke aroma, the heathery perfume of Islay’s streams, and the sweet nuttiness of barley. They range from a rich 10 Year Old to an exceptionally rare and smooth 40 Year Old.

The Balvenie Distillery

You are treated to a fantastic in depth and leisurely look at the complete journey of whisky making and gain an understanding of the entire process and an appreciation for the history and work that goes into every cask. You see how the grain and barley is formed to be used in the end product, malting, distilling and more and get the exceptional chance to bottle your own malt to take home and also enjoy six or more drams of Balvenie's best offerings

The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh

You also will get to visit the new breathtaking Scotch Whisky Experience and take a swirling large barrel ride through a replica audio visual distillery as you actually become part of the whisky manufacturing and distilling process and hear stories from expert tour guides and whisky advisors. You will discover the flavors (sweet or fruity or smoky) and aromas that appeal to your individual palate and thus lead you to your perfect Single Malt Whisky as you enjoy a tasting presentation. Additionally, you get to enter the vault which contains the largest collection of Scotch Whiskies in the world.
