2 Must See Tourist Attractions in Franschhoek, South Africa

It always amazes us how such a cozy place like Franschhoek, South Africa could have so many diverse attractions. You never truly appreciate everything it has to offer until you go.

We understand South Africa might be a new experience for you, which is why we found the best attractions for you to go see if ever your vacation days take you to Franschhoek; or rather, you should make your vacation days be to Franschhoek; it is truly a great place to spend your vacation time.

· Franschhoek Motor Museum

Any museum which has vintage cars always gets out attention, and we’re sure it will get yours too. The Franschhoek Motor Museum is exactly such a place. Did we mention that Franschhoek is famous for wine, too?

Well, it shouldn’t come off as too much of a surprise when you realize this museum is located at the very beautiful L’Ormarins wine estate (somehow, the folks at South Africa managed to put together two of our favorite things: Wine and cars!)

The estate itself is worth seeing and if you love cars, that’s even better. There are more than 220 vehicles-and yes, there’s a Ferrari in the collection too-so you know going to this museum won’t be a waste of time in the least.

· Franschhoek Wine Bus Tour

Well you know we had to add a little more wine to this list. The Wine Bus can accommodate 10 happy vacationists on 4-hour tours, so you know there’s a lot to be done before you reach your final destination.

Rickety Wine Estate is your first stop, but it’s neither the best nor the only place you’ll get to see on the tour. There’s an incredible viewpoint called, “Matoppie” which is one of the highlights of Franschhoek. The vista there is gorgeous. You’re certain to be overwhelmed by the excellent views of the Berg River Dam bordering the Wemmerhoek Mountains.

Once you’re done taking in the view, turn your attention to the drinks and snacks served atop the mountain before the tour resumes. And remember, that mountain is just one of the first places the tour covers. Your bus you will carry you to another vineyard, wine tasting and so much more.
