5 Fun Tips for Your Trip to Sweden

Sweden is a beautiful country that attracts lots of tourists per year and is famous for its rocky shores, quiet forests, and the northern lights. Roux Luxury Travel can plan your trip to Sweden for your vacation but before you go, here are some important tips that will help you have fun and enjoy yourself.

· The Language

Thanks to early-education English courses, Sweden is one of the countries that is nonnative anglophone but has the largest speakers of fluent English. This means that there will be no language barrier and your travel will be that much easier. You will still find it difficult to pronounce the local words though so brace yourself.

· Visit as Many Islands as You Can

Sweden has lots of islands that you can reach by either ferry or car. Be sure to visit as many as you can and enjoy the great scenery and peaceful habitation of the local hamlets.

· Tap Water Is Better Than Bottled Water

Sweden’s water supply is well filtered and very clean so many of its citizens drink straight from the tap. The country is also very environmentally conscious so if you visit a store, for example, you should go along with a bag if you do not want to pay for the plastic or paper bag that you’ll be given.

· What to Wear

What to wear in Sweden depends on the time that you are visiting. In the winter months, we’d advise that you go with a heavy jacket, a heavy pair of gloves or mittens and a beanie that will cover your ears. Winters in Sweden are cold so pack enough cold-weather gear.

One thing that you must however always take along on a trip to Sweden no matter the weather is layers. In the winter, thermal underwear, heavy leggings, and a moisture-resistant jacket should do the trick. While for the summer, camisoles, and cardigans are what’s necessary. No matter the weather, take along a pashmina. Quality water-resistant rainboots could also come in handy in the summer, alongside a raincoat, waterproof pants and a windproof umbrella. Sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses are already a necessity that we know you won’t forget.

· Enjoy the Seafood

Sweden is one country that we’d advise you try fish in, even if you don’t eat fish! The fish is sure to be fresh as it is a coastal area but if you still would rather not, there is a lot of other varieties to choose from. Seafood lovers will find Sweden a paradise though.
