5 Tips to Make Your Ecuador Trip Fun and Exciting

If you are looking for a chance to see the Amazon Basin, watch a volcano from a distance, walk through a misty cloud forest and enjoy a drink on the pacific coast all in one day, Ecuador is the place for you. What’s best? We at Roux Luxury Travel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana can handle the planning of that trip for you. For the 4th smallest country in South America, Ecuador is quite diverse and is among the 17 megadiverse countries in the world. If you are set for your trip to Ecuador, the following 5 tips can help.

· The Best Time to Visit

Ecuador has two seasons when it comes to the weather: Wet and Dry season. The coastal and jungle areas can be very warm and humid while the mountain cities tend to get very cool at night so we advise taking along extra layers. October and November are the months with the most rain and although the rainstorms are usually short, they can deposit a lot of water.

· What to Wear

We’d advise taking along clothing for all for seasons especially if you are going to the mountains because you will experience a likelihood of them. Don’t forget your swimwear as Ecuador has many wonderful hot springs that you can enjoy a nice soak in. You will also find clothing made from Alpaca wool at very nice prices if you want. They are famed for being light while keeping you quite warm.

· Travel Vaccinations

You’ll need to have the following vaccinations before traveling to Ecuador: chickenpox, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, influenza, measles, meningitis, mumps and rubella (MMR), pneumonia, polio, rabies, shingles, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), typhoid and yellow fever.

· Budget

Ecuador is a very budget-friendly country to visit and uses the USD as its official country which is great for travelers from the US. Getting around is also quite cheap and you can spend about $4 for a 4-hour trip. Great right? Cheaper accommodations tend to be far from the plazas but they might also be less noisy depending on your taste.

· Places to Visit

We’d suggest Olón, the Basilica del Voto Nacional in Quito, Baños, and Ingapirca down near Cuenca. You should also visit the local markets also known as feria libre for great food and a true taste of the local culture. Each town has a different type of feria.

Here at Roux Luxury Travel, we are known to take the opinion and feelings of our clients into account when planning their vacations. That way, you get to enjoy yourself at a pace that you are comfortable with. Ready to get started? Contact us today!
