6 Important Travel Tips When Visiting Arizona

Arizona is a state that you should visit if you are looking for an unforgettable luxurious adventure. Its massive landscape carved out by the Colorado River is still a pretty picture today and is every traveler’s dream destination. With Roux Luxury Travel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana you can turn this dream into a reality. But before you go, here are some tips that could come in handy.

· When to Visit and Where to Go

The best time to visit the south of Arizona is from January to March. Which is about now! For the north, however, most people love to go in the summer months of June to August. Check out Phoenix, Glendale, Tempe, and Mesa which are great for exploring history and adventure. This is of course after you would have seen the famed Grand Canyon.

· Experience the Local Culture

Arizona is rich in history and heritage with about 22 Native American tribes residing in the state. You can visit the tribal areas to experience the difference in customs and cultures, but make sure to pay utmost respect to their rules and sentiments. The Arizona trail is a perfect way to get up close and personal with the wild and rugged side of Arizona.

· Food

Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana and Rusconi’s American Kitchen are must-visits for when you are in Phoenix. You should also try the street stalls for their burritos and nacho chips. A trial of the fried dishes and salads will have you eating some edible cactus which we’re sure not many of your friends can boast of having done. Bottled water and lemonade are also quite popular.

· Mind the Weather

Spring and fall are usually mild and pleasant with ideal conditions for adventure sports and sightseeing. The snowcapped mountains around Flagstaff are also a delight for many. Watch out for the variations in temperature and climate at other times, however. The deserts can be pretty brutal in the summer but are amazing in the winter!

· What to Pack

Loose, casual and comfortable clothing is great for outdoor activities in Arizona. You’ll also need hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen at all times of the year, especially in the summer. For summer, pack cotton shirts and shorts while for winter, sweaters and jackets will do.

· Safety Concerns

Arizona is close to Mexico so be extra cautious along the border areas. Dehydration can be a problem as major parts of the state are desert. If you are river rafting, take some sunscreen with you. You should also be prepared for possible thunderstorms and flash flooding when hiking the Grand Canyon.
