Paradise Found at Dorado Beach, a Ritz Carlton Reserve

If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time you know I travel a lot.

And I stay in all sorts of luxury resorts around the world.

But every once in a while, I discover a place that blows me away.

Last week,  I had the pleasure of visiting the Dorado Beach Ritz Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico. And I have to say, it was absolutely amazing. The minute you walk in, you are ensconced in a tropical paradise. Why do I love this so much?

• The design – everything fits perfectly into the environment. The furnishings don’t compete with the amazing views that you get out of every window. When they built the resort, they kept the existing trees and built around them in order to avoid disturbing the environment.
• The service – top of the line. 
• The seclusion. Even though the resort was at 80% occupancy on the day we visited, there were only a handful of people in each area. No crowds, no waiting around for drinks. The minute we set foot on the property, we know we were in a special place. Cabanas have to be reserved in advance, but they are included in the price of your stay.
• The spa. Five acres of spa with outdoor and tree house treatment areas, and a botanical room where the therapists create custom botanical blends for each guest.
• Culinary experience. Jose Andres has a restaurant here. Plus they have a culinary center where you can try different things and even do some hands on cooking if you wish.
