3 Travel Tips to Make Your Stay in Brazil Even Better

Brazil is a very large place. It has a landmass that quite frankly makes it somewhat intimidating; conversely, all that space means endless places for you to explore when Roux Luxury Travels books your next vacation there.

We’re a full-service travel agency in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the list below covers some tips that, although basic, should still come in pretty handy wherever you are in Brazil.

  • Yes, There’s Excellent Wine in Brazil

Samba and Carnaval are more synonymous with brazil than wine but the latter is still something both locals and tourists don’t neglect. The Brut Champenoise, a wonderful creation of the southern part of the country, is particularly exceptional in taste.

Some wonderful reds can also be found in the wineries in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro as well as in many wine shops. We recommend taking a trip to the aptly named Wine House or Canastra to sample some of the finest wines the country makes. Canastra is French-owned but ironically, only sells Brazilian wine.

  • Beer Comes in Tiny Pints

Don’t be offended if you’re served beer in tiny glasses because that’s just the way it is in Brazil. The reason? Almost every part of the country is roasted by extreme heat, so beer served in bigger glasses would warm up too fast, burning away their sweet taste.

If you don’t care about this and still want to drink your beer in large glasses, head over to the southern part of the country because that’s where you’ll see German-influenced bars that still serve beer in such a manner.

  • Germany Has Oktoberfest but So Does Brazil

Still on German influence in Brazil, the infamous Oktoberfest held in Germany has now made its way to Brazil. A town called Blumenau (in Santa Catarina) celebrates this festival every October. Clearly, German influence in the country has gone beyond merely food and architecture as both nations now share particular traditions.

Oktoberfest in Brazil is held over several days. It takes the best parts of the German festival and brings it to Brazil, so expect a lot of beer, raucous singing and dancing and traditional food. As a testament to how big an event it is, the world recognizes the Brazilian Oktoberfest as the second-largest beer festival, only beaten by the original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.

Brazil is a colorful and fun place to be in. The people alone can make your trip a memorable one, let alone all the wonderful attractions. Heed these little tips to make the most out the vacation that Roux Luxury Travel will plan for you.
