mekong river cruiseThinking about doing a river cruise this year?  It's January, which means it's time choose your itinerary and get your space reserved before your top choice sells out. This time of year, cruise lines have a lot of Wave Sales, which means you can take advantage of big savings.  I have chosen three favorites to highlight from the offerings from AMA Waterways, just to give you an idea of what's available.

Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of the Mekong

As most of my readers know, I mainly specialize in wine travel. But I have an adventure travel side as well, and this year I am really tempted by AMA Waterways 7-night cruise from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh CityRates start as low as $1,049 per person for the cruise only, and $3,248 per person with pre-tour hotel stay included. An additional savings of $200 per couple is available if you book this through Roux Wine Tours.

This cruise begins in Vietnam’s bustling capital, Hanoi, followed by an excursion to breathtaking Ha Long Bay for an overnight sojourn. A short flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia, brings you to the gateway of the ancient Khmer empire. Spend three days touring the temples of Angkor Archeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before embarking your Mekong cruise on Tonle Sap Lake. Visit rural villages, historic pagodas, floating markets and a Buddhist monastery along the way. Overnight in Phnom Phen, capital of Cambodia.  Your cruise ends in Ho Chi Minh City.

Black Sea Voyage

Prices start at $2,049 per person for the cruise only and $4,299 per person with a pre-tour night at a hotel and a 3 day adventure post-tour.

Being your journey in Vienna (or in Budapest), one of the key places for music and architecture development, and embark on your river cruise down the Danube river. Explore the narrow gorge known as the Iron Gates, then venture along the Romanian- Bulgarian border. Visit the Capital and largest city of Romania, then it’s off the boat to continue to Veliko Tarnovo, the ancient capital of Bulgaria. End your excursion in Istanbul, taking in the exotic and beautiful cultural crossroads.

Paris & Normandy

Paris_and_Normandy_River_CruiseIf you enjoy art and historical sites and castles, you would love a 7—night cruise roundtrip from Paris through AmaWaterways. These rates start at $2,149 per person for the cruise only, and $3,499 per person with post-tour hotel stay included.

Journey through the magical “City of Light”, also known as Paris, where you can embark on your river cruise ship. Visit where Monet lived and worked for most of his life, and the town of Honfleur, the immortalized town by generations of artists. Explore the historical capital of Rouen, Normandy and experience the famous site of WWII. End this amazing tour with a panoramic journey through Paris’ top sights and even sneak a peek at the Musse d’Orsay.

Deals and special offers are going on all throughout the year, but the start of the year is the best time to score big. Interested in any of these trips? Request a free quote or call us for a free consultation. Just click the button and fill out our form.
